"My 11 year old daughter contracted two painful verruccas from her regular swimming lessons - they were a source of embarrassment for her as well as being very painful and unsightly. The cryotherapy treatment she was initially given burnt her foot and blistered terribly, so she has been very reluctant to have anything on her foot that might be uncomfortable. She has a latex allergy and therefore normal swim socks were out of the question for her - we struggled to find any swimwear supplier who made swim socks in anything other than latex in her size. After a little searching, however, we came across "V-stop" socks and decided that as they were very reasonably priced and looked good, we would give them a go. We needed them very quickly, and Kay kindly posted them for next day delivery which meant they arrived in time for her early morning lesson. She was excited about them from the start - they looked funky and in the blue and lime green colourway they matched her costume well. She has now been using them for almost two months - they don't impede her swimming at all, go straight in the wash with her costume and dry quickly. She has had only compliments when wearing them, which I doubt would have been the case with latex socks! From my point of view they are very well made and hardwearing, have a tough non-slip sole, and are easy to care for. I'm very pleased with them and would certainly buy them again”

My Story

I created V-Stop Swim Socks as a result of both my daughters catching verrucas whilst attending swimming lessons at school and our local pool. Months of treatment and tears followed, after great perseverance we finally got rid of the verrucas. I felt sad that I had no way of protecting my children and preventing them from catching a verruca in the first place. To my dismay, I also caught a verruca from my daughters.


Sadly my daughters caught more verrucas and this prompted me to take action. I did look for advice, some said to leave the verrucas to go away on their own but they didn't, they just got bigger and more painful (and probably resulted in others catching the virus). I also heard that your body will build up an immunity to the virus, my daughters haven't yet and I'm still waiting more than forty years on! Finally I decided to design and source my range of V-Stop Swim Socks to help protect my daughters, my husband and my own feet when we go swimming. We have found them very comfortable, reassuring and above all effective. My daughters love wearing them. I am pleased to report that we have had no more verrucas or foot infections since. We don't go swimming (or in any showers or toilets at swimming pools) without our Swim Socks on now!


V-Stop Swim Socks have been a huge success with family and friends. Both children and adults wear their Swim Socks when entering changing rooms and don’t remove them until they leave. Even strangers have asked us where where our socks are from! By launching my range of swim socks I hope to offer people of all ages an alternative way to help keep their feet clean and germ free when swimming and to help avoid the stress of dealing with verrucas.
